Welcome to the official community information page for the City Centre Urban Development construction project, located at the junction of Church Lane and Carter Road.
This project involves the development of a 10-storey facility with an integrated basement level. Once complete, the centre will provide a modern office space, including staff offices, retail shops and an underground carpark

What to Expect During Construction
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 13:00
No works on Sundays or public holidays without prior notice
Traffic Management:
Temporary footpath closure on Carter Road (March 2025 – August 2025)
All deliveries scheduled and managed via an on-site Traffic Management Plan
Marshalling staff present during peak delivery windows
Noise and Dust Control:
All activities will comply with BS 5228: Noise Control on Construction Sites
Dust suppression systems and wheel-wash facilities in place
No high-impact demolition or piling works after 5 PM
Lighting:
Minimal low-level site lighting will be used for safety
No overnight floodlighting unless in emergency
Community Considerations
We are committed to minimising disruption and ensuring safe conditions for nearby residents, schools, and businesses. Here’s what we’re doing:
Regular street cleaning to remove mud and dust
Noise monitoring points installed along Church Lane
Security patrols outside of working hours
Weekly newsletter updates posted to this site and sent to subscribed residents
Local employment & apprenticeships encouraged through our construction partners

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Will construction affect my bin collection or utilities?
A: No disruptions are expected. We have coordinated with local services to maintain normal operations.
Q: Will you be working weekends?
A: Approval for Saturday mornings for quiet works have been approved.
Q: Can I access the footpath during works?
A: The Carter Road and Church Lane footpath will be diverted between April–August 2025. Signage and barriers will be in place for your safety.
